Sweet and Boozy: Crème Brûlée + Sparkling Wine

We love a good dessert, especially one we can enjoy with wine. Jaillance Clairette de Die is a fruity sparkling wine that carries luscious notes of muscat grapes, rose and lychee, with sharp tangs of citrus. A perfect aperitif, it can also be enjoyed with desserts. Treat yourself to a glass of this sweet sparkly with Marie Morin’s crème brûlée, a rich and creamy dessert with a crisp gold sugary crust you cannot resist.

Gems of the Fine Wine Region: Burgundy

Burgundy is the producer of the world’s best and most expensive wines. Home to the most popular reds and whites - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, here are some of our top picks from this eastern France region:

Domaine Harmand-Goffroy Gevrey-Chambertin 2014:  Taking on an all-traditional viticulture method, Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy turns all their soil manually. This 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin is made with vines between 25 and 60 years of age, picked from 10 different village sites. A strong, mature red, this one is elegantly composed with notes of black cherries and warm earthy scents. Pair with gamey meats like lamb and raw chopped beef.

Domaine Cordier Père et Fils Saint-Véran Village "En Faux" 2015: Founded in 1968, Domaine Cordier experiments with a biodynamic approach in their wines. Grapes are handpicked from various regions of the Mâconnais for voluptuous Chardonnays with their signature notes of nuts and acidic fruits. This 2015 "En Faux" is a full-bodied white with soft touches of spice and vanilla, and light notes of lime and Rocha pear. Pair with lighter flavours like fresh oysters and river fish.

Fine Cheese and Wine

Nothing goes better like wine with cheese. Here are some great cheese and wine combos you haven’t thought of, but will definitely need the next time you devour this dangerously addicting duo.

Jean-Luc Colombo Les Pins Couchés Rosé 2014/2016  x Les Frères Marchand Hercule Goat's and Ewe’s Milk Cheeses : inspired by the Mediterranean coast, Jean-Luc Colombo Les Pins Couchés Rosé is a "Provence" rosé. Light and dry and in a romantic light pink, this bubbly features subtle notes of red fruits that envelops the palette in a rich aroma of black olives, herbs and fresh fruits. Pair this with Les Frères Marchand Hercule goat's and ewe's milk cheeses to bring out its sweet and fruitiness.

Château des Tours Vacqueyras 2010 x Les Frères Marchand Comté 24months: Château des Tours, owned by the famous Emmanuel, owner of Château Rayas, this wine is a full, medium-bodied red with deep, dense flavours balanced by tannins. This earthy and spicy red is the perfect accompaniment to cheese, roasted meats, stews and veggies casseroles. Try it with Les Frères Marchand Comté cheese to bring out the richness of both the wine and cheese.
